At just 20-years old, singer/songwriter Davina Leone has already opened for One Republic and released her debut album, Awake. Davina is a multi-lingual singer; she performs in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
Raised in Miami, Florida by a family of musicians, Davina discovered her passion for music at a young age, playing the piano and exploring new instruments at school. At the age of ten, Davina realized her inherent talent for singing when she began performing in local Broadway productions. Teaching herself to sing and play guitar, Davina began releasing her music on YouTube at age 14. Millions of views and thousands of subscribers later, Davina was discovered by songwriter Richie Supa, and producer George Noriega. Together, they produced her debut album Awake, a soulful mix of uplifting tunes that everyone can relate to. Richie is best known for his work with Aerosmith, Pink, Richie Sambora, and George is a Grammy winner for his collaborations with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
Davina’s talent is quickly being recognized, her single Up All Night, produced by 21-year-old producer Jon Leone (Davina’s brother) was recently featured on Hallmark Channel movie The Sweeter Side of Life. Showcasing her talent to a whole new fan base, Davina opened for One Republic during the Sundance Film Festival in January 2013 and In March 2013, Davina performed at SXSW in Austin, TX.
Socially aware and enthusiastic about using her platform to help others, Davina recently became spokesperson and celebrity ambassador for anti bullying organization Defeat The Label. Davina’s love of performing stems from her belief that everyone should stand up for what they believe in and embrace self-expression. Davina is encouraging just that on her anti-bullying campaign entitled, The Message Tour in which she travels to schools around the country and speaks to students about the dangers of bullying and the importance of self-esteem. Davina also performs for the students and encourages them to believe in themselves and follow their dreams.
Helping abroad as well as at home, Davina will be traveling to Haiti in late 2013 on behalf of non profit Fly High for Haiti, an organization developed to promote children’s education in Haiti. Davina will teach music workshops to children and visit hospitals and orphanages to help bring social awareness to earthquake ravaged Haiti.
In addition to The Message Tour, Davina is working on her EP, slated for release in late 2013.
